I’ve been wanting to write about The Tin Angel for a few months now. It’s located in an unlikely spot next to a scooter store, across the street from the southwest corner of Pioneer park. When I tell people where it’s located, it’s evident they’ve never noticed a restaurant there. This may be one of the reasons The Tin Angel is relatively unknown. With food this good, though, it can’t remain a secret forever.

The building and its location impart a real urban feel to the whole ambiance. With live music several times a week and eclectic art gracing the walls, The Tin Angel is far from stereotypical.

The food is fantastic. Simply said, but so true. From what I’m told, the ingredients are largely local and organic. The chicken salad sandwich is the best I’ve had and the other 3 or 4 dishes I’ve tried have all been great as well. The servers are very accommodating if you need to modify a dish for health reasons, such as making a dish gluten-free for someone with celiac disease.

Update (5/12/09): Tried their dine-o-round lunch special which was a BBQ beef sandwich. Fantastic!
